Chicken Burger with Yogurt Sauce


For the burger:

  • 500g (1 lb 1,5 oz) chicken
  • 1 egg 
  • 2 tbsp. breadcrumbs
  • 1 clove of garlic
  • 1 tbsp. mixed spices for Koftes or 1/2 tsp.
    sweet paprika and 1/2 tsp. ground cumin
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. pepper
  • 4 sprigs of fresh mint

For the accompaniment:

  • Onion rings
  • Cut tomato cut into slices
  • Yogurt Sauce

For the Yogurt sauce:

  • 2 tomatoes
  • 1 spring onion
  • mint and parsley leaves
  • salt
  • 4 tbsp. olive oil
  • 1 yoghurt
  • 1 lemon

Suggested bread: Pitta bread


  1. Peel and chop the garlic and the mint leaves and mix with the meat and other burger ingredients. 

  2. Make 4 hamburgers. 

  3. Add the rest of the ingredients.
Yogurt sauce:
    1. Chop the tomato and onion and season with salt and olive oil. 

    2. Mix the yoghurt with the lemon and a pinch of salt. 

    3. Serve on top of the hamburgers with the mint and parsley leaves.
